I've been playing this recently with friends on a lan (SoF2 that is). I was just wondering if there are any plans for a third installment?

I was thinking that maybe because of the advancement in the way games look (i.e. UE3 quality) that a new SoF game would be just too violent to let it pass the censors.

It's a lot of fun to play in DM though!

I really liked the game. However, I think Ravensoftware is busy with Quake IV. I don't think there is going to be a third installment. However, you can go to: www.planetsoldier.com to get all the latest information on the Soldier of Fortune games. There was once an April Fool's joke on Soldier of Fortune III. They had a screenshot, but it was a modified Doom III picture.

a SOFIII game would be cool. The SP was good in 1 and 2.

Never played SOFII, but SOF was....amazing . I shoot there leg with a shotgun, it goes flying abck I hear screames and everything.
Now make that leg physically simulate and fly off and physically simulate the blood and bones in the leg and muhahaa....gorey as a mother f*cker.

soldier of fortune 2 was the single most frustrating game i have ever encountered...i have never gotten quite so annoyed with a game as i had sof2. this coming from a massive sof1 fan

I never finished SOF2. The stealth missions were absolutely dreadful and it reached the point where gibbing baddies just sort of got boring.

SOF1 kept it simpler, which is why I guess I endured through the whole game. Here's your gun. Here's your bad guys. Go to ****ing town.

Yeah, I couldn't beat SOFII because of those damn stealth missions.
