Soldner v2 beta demo

The v2 beta demo is out. I know the first one sucked, but im downloading as i type this just to see if it got any better. Its a stand alone, so its not a patch. Uninstall the first version (which probably everyone did already) before you install the second version. The places that i know have it is fileplanet and gamespot, fileplanet will probably have a line of 10000 poeple and gamespot you need a subscription. Ill tell you all how it is once the download is done, 3 minutes left.

soldner sucks, and it pains me to say that.

does it fix all the connection issues? are more than like 15 people going to play it?

well since the new version just came out, there were no servers useing the new version yet, so i didnt get to play, the only thing i can say is that the loading time when you first start the game is still long, which sucks, but if the gameplay is good, and there are no bugs, then i loading time will be ok.

It says list requested and then does feck all!

Yeah, that near-two-minute load time is stupid. That is, I ASSUME it's stupid, since once it finishes the game FREEZES MY OS :flame:

Maybe the second demo will work better. In the meantime, I'll go and play TrackMania (www.filerush.com has the demo, it's pretty cool).

I kind of like soldner, but it's not very playable until they fix the server crash issue (every server crashes every now and then, maybe a memory leak or something). I don't really mind the loading time anymore, gotten used to it. The positive side of it is that it hardly needs to load stuff when actually joining a game.

i was able to play it. And i now know that it just sucks, bugs or no bugs. Besides the fact that you still get disconnected from servers and you crash, the gameplay just sucks, and you dont want to know how many times i have died right when i respawned. I havent been able to play for more then 10 minutes so i cant tell you a lot about it, but im sure not spending my money on this game.

Here's the changelist, I might try it, tell yall later how it is.

Major Fixes:
• Overall number of worldwide simultaneous players has been substantially increased. More servers are now available for players to access.
• Fixed crash bug caused by crypter code
• Fixed crash bug caused by refresh rate overrides of some drivers
• fixed crash when portal disconnects player while playing
• fixed crash if you die while throwing a grenade
• fixed some problems with Win98
• New soldier collision code which fixes several problems
• A lock icon has been placed next to server names, indicating that server is password protected.
• serverlist gets pinged faster (note: “xxx” means server has firewall and cannot transmit ping rate)
• implemented “pop-up” map which can be used without having to leave game (“M” Key)
• Added new menu option that allows rate setting for different internet connection speeds
• Implemented basic filters for server lists. Now servers can be filtered for the following:
o Favorites
o Hide password protected servers
o Hide high ping servers
o Hide servers w/earlier version of demo
o Hide empty, full servers
• Hostages are now released when you get them to the extraction area in Hostage Rescue mode
