Been playing around with a bit of max lately. It's pretty early stages but I'm hoping if I keep motovated it will get a load more content if I can find the time!

Trying to think of some more objects to get in the scene but running a little short of ideas. Was thinking some kind of weapon, ammo, items making it feel more lived in like bedding, maps and wall charts. Any ideas?!

Have you lit up your map yet? Noting the setting, I'd create a lamp or ground light prop, and add an awesome projector light onto the objects, complete with shadows and stuff. That'd be pretty awesome.

sigh..If only I had the time, I'd get back to messing around with 3dsmax again.

You should render out an occlusion pass to get contact shadows for all your stuff. I think in cramped scenes like this we should be able to see the light source since we're seeing most of the space in the bunker probably. Maybe a dangling lightbulb from the ceiling, or lit candles on the barrels?

The ground texture doesnt look like real dirt because its just a flat texture. You should get some bump map action going on in there, and make more rocks/pebbles littered all over the ground. Should probably also break up the texture a bit with spots of sand and finer dirt where the ground would have been walked on.

Other props could be books/misc papers, camping equipment like cooking equipment etc. Ammo stashes would make it more obvious its a bunker than just a underground room. Maybe a boot just laying around, and probably some general debris building up in the corners like in this pic.

Put some hooks and stuff on the walls, some with equipment others empty.

Though it may not be an appropriate place for such things.

To say its pretty much a work in progress, I dont know much about lighting atm but ill try and figure out how to get the occousion working correclty.

The origanal idea was a german WWII bunker, within some kind of wall defences maybe.
