well I did a search on the domain "www.halflife3.com" and it came up with this....

To most of you this probobly means nothing... but to sum it up... VU and Valve have already registered Website URLs for the game :cheers:
 
they normally do that for games :p Esp if they own the IP to them, :p but we already knew it was a trilogy ;) im not holding my breath though.
 
yea... but hey.. it could be good news maybe lol... I dunno.. just felt maybe I should post it. 'Cause well it means that there was an origonal intent to make the game... which I hope they still have that intent

hmm, I swear it wasnt registered that early . Because its suprising that no one looked it up then.
 
yea I saw that it was registered in 1999 as well... and I thought maybe it was just a mess up in the data base... but maybe not... maybe they saw that HL was such a big hit and they knew HL2 would be too so tehy mine as well reserve the domain for HL3 as well (cause HL1 was released in 1998... and 1999 was the year after... so they might have started then)
 
doesn't mean anything.

we've seen domains registered for certain things, which never came.
 
1999 wow HL1 came out when? 1998? who they started planning early

you can post it here, it's fine. it's just saving the time of doing the whois ourself.
 
They prob snatched up these domains early just in case some ass got it and then tried to flog them to Valve/VUG for millions...
 
It's more likely they did this, so that other users don't register them first and turn them into porn sites, or other potentially offensive material. This would cause greater confusion for the uninformed user that runs across it.

Similarly to how www.whitehouse.gov realized they needed to claim all the variations possible, when somebody turned www.whitehouse.com into a porn site.
 
Everyone knows there will be a hl3 100%
 
Arg... Ive been thinking way too much about hl2 to EVER start thinking about HL3 anytime soon.
 
Noooooo what are we going to do for halflife2.net there will be no halflife3.net community. WE will need a new domain
