Ok I've been thinking about putting linux on my PC. I use windows XP and I wanted to try out linux. One question is if I use Live CD I don't have to switch my OS from windows do I? I can just boot it from linux, and switch back to windows at any time right? Please respond to this, anyone who is familiar with linux. Thanks

with a Live CD you boot from CD and run a linux OS from the CD. it doesnt even touch your hard drive, unless you want to read from it.
no installation or messing around with partitioning, its purely to try it out
if u want to go back to windows, simply take out the CD
make sure your boot priorities are set up correctly
