are the expantion slots on a case the amount of fans you could have?
I could buy a 5 fan thermal take, then get two good fans and install them?
could the two new fans be hooked into the fan control thing on the case?

What? Most fans (Talking non CPU/GPU) are just hooked up to power and run at a steady RPM. Then you have regulated ones, which get more/less power depending on either you or a thermometer.

So I really don't understand your question?

Expansion slots are for things like PCI cards and such, for example, a SATA card or firewire card.

If your looking to use fans, there should be info on how many a case can take in the specs. If there isn't assume it can't take any extra ones, or call the supplier. You can of course cut fan holes, but I don't recommend it.

It doesn't matter *how you mount* the fan as long as it doesn't interact with other hardware. Just see to it that it's clear of other stuff and that it has power. PCI slots were more used in the past then they are today. PCI Express will be a big hit though, *great* performance increase.

The most efficient way of mounting a fan is obviously at a hole in the chassie (Usually MADE for fans).

What you have to remember is to have power to your fans. There are these 3-pin (And 4-pin??) contacts that they use, very small.
They're a about -- actual size, and that includes the 3 pins. You just connect the fan power-wire to it and you're good to go.

Your CPU fan should already be set like this, you could take a look at where the power goes.
