Question 1: I took a 60mm fan off my old CPU cooler, would this work fine as a cooler in the chassis? It runs at the same voltage as most chassis fans (12v).

Question 2: If i bought 2 chassis fans where would be the best place to place them? and if the CPU fan would work, where would be the best spots to place 3?

Question 3: Im getting a AGP, Radeon 9800 Pro (despite the lack of support for Shader Model 3.0 [also known as Pixel Shader 3.0]
:( ) this will be the first time ive ever installed a video card on a machine with a OS, so.......
Will it function untill i install the drivers? or do i need to install them first? what will happen?

Question 4: When you put in more RAM will the computer find it by itself?

that's all folks! :D

1. The fan will definitely work as a case fan, but I don't recommend anything under 80mm as a case fan. Not that it will mess anything up, but it isn't really worht it. The noise:airflow ratio is horrible. If you want to, then by all means go ahead. You won't notice too much of a difference though.

2. If you bought two chassis fans and you didn't have any to begin with, putting one in the bottom front and one in the rear at the top would be your best bet. If you already had one in the front and one in the back, then a good place is on the top of the case if you have a fan spot there. If you have one in the front and one in the back already and there is no spot on the top for one, then put one in the front and one in the back to double up the airflow.

3. Uninstall all video drivers you currently have on your system. Then shut down your computer, put the graphics card in the AGP slot, and boot up your computer. When you get into Windows, install new drivers from the internet, not from the CD that came with the card. Then...voila!

4. Yes, the computer will find the new RAM by itself. Just a quick note, if you install new RAM that is faster than the other stick(s), then it will be slowed down to their speeds. I personally like to either completely replace all the RAM with new stuff, or get more of the same type that I had before.

sweet dude, thanks for your reply  i really had no idea where the best spots would be for those fans. The newest driver for radeon cards is ati catalyst 4.11 right? if so im in luck, have that on a cd right next to me and yes, it will be same speed RAM as i currently have, and again thank you very much!

EDIT: A Abit AN7 mobo should run perfectly alright with a radeon card even though it's based on Nforce technologi right?

I would download the new drivers anyway (the newest is 4.12 by the way). The only time I ever use a CD for a driver is when I first build a system. That's only because I need the LAN driver so I can access the internet and download the rest.

Yeperooni, the Radeon card will work with your motherboard.

Hmm... i bought a new mobo will the disk that came with it install the lan drivers or what?

Si, señor. If your motherboard has a built-in ethernet controller, the disc that came wth it should contain the LAN drivers. I mean, you don't have to do exactly what I do. I'm just showing everybody a different option because I dislike having drivers that may be faulty and outdated.
