some settings wont save

like cl_ragdoll_collide 1 wont save always keeps going back to zero


and jpeg_quality i want at 100 is always at 50


tryd even to put it into my cfg manually..always go back to default.anyone know a solution?

Hmm try using autoexec.cfg instead if you are editing config.cfg. If that doesn't work make the config you edited read-only.

i've got the same problem as heat. kin83 what do you mean by editing autoexec.cfg. i can't find it in the cs source folder

I got other settings that won't save. The most annoying one is auto-switch weapon, I can't turn it off!!

You have to make your own autoexec.cfg file. Just input the commands you want changed in a notepad file & name it "autoexec.cfg". Be sure to put it to "all files" before saving or it'll become a *.txt which won't work. Or so I've been told.

Put it in the same map that your config.cfg & userconfig.cfg is in. It's in your CS:S map in a sub-folder called "cfg".

Yeah mine does that too. But I don't get any performance gain from lowering the quality anyway (the game stutters kinda funny if I change texture quality in the middle of a game though) so I just let it run at maximum... Weird.

Well you could search for them in the console. I started with the letter A & checked all commands for something interesting. And then I did B & C & D etc. And copied the commands practically.
