Hi all,

I noticed this forum today and decided to post a link to my Tiny Weeny website (I'm not sure how to actually post pics in a thread)

Please feel free to take a look at some of my work.

It may sound like an excuse, but the things I have on there are quite old and many of them are unfinished as I was (and still am) learning 'How things work'.

I have a lot more pics to go on the site, but due to someone being rather overly-helpful the page is now rather (utterly) complicated for me to update :)

My newer work is a lot more detailed and planned a heck of a lot better :)

Anyway, heres the link, please feel free to shoot me down in flames if you hate it but I hope someone finds something they like :)

Ooh, Just wanted to point out, these pics range from my very first attempt through to about 6 months ago (I've been fiddling with this sort of thing for about a year and a half).

If anyones interested, I'll attempt to upload the last 6 months work sometime soon :)

Well I think you've got a talent but one thing is screaming out, and thats you need to save up and buy a proper 3D program. They look like they were done in Bryce and that wouldn't be what I'd recommend on using as it can't teach much compared to using programs such as Max or XSI, Maya, Lightwave.

Some of them look like they could have been really neat but Bryce's limitations I think are holding you back. The UFO one for example, that would have looked excellent done in something like Lightwave with all the trimmings..

I really think it would be very worth your while saving up and getting a program program, I think if you did that you'd be doing the right thing and certainly not wasting your money

Oh and just incase its not clear, I'm complimenting you on your work :), I just think the software is sucky :P Save up for a pro package and I think you'll be well on your way to knocking out some great work. I'm very critical of Bryce, its not bad but I've only ever seen Kano use it to its fullest. But well he's crazy anyway :)

course if im wrong and you did do them in pro packages, you need to do a lot of reading up on textures and lighting :)

I agree with Fenric, and I am also not a big fan of brice. It is a nice program, but its modeling features are really lacking, Same with its render capapability's. The program is great for doing panoramic background images that can be used for hdri. Vut other then that I really hate the program.

try to get your hands on 3dmax, Maya, Cynema4D, XSI or Lightwave (legally if possible) all of the programs mentioned are great.

I did indeed use Bryce 5 for all of them. I think that means I got some compliments! ;) All the models were made by me, except for the lighthouse.

I've always enjoyed doing landscapes and started out with Vista Pro on the Amiga (Many many moons ago!) so Bryce was the next logical step.
For the last 6 months or so I've found that I really want to create more detailed environments, and while Bryce can do the backgrounds with ease, getting the level of detail I want on the objects in the foreground of scenes is becoming quite tricky.

I'm not an expert by any stretch of the imagination and I tend to just make what springs to mind (even if I'm halfway through another scene) but I will say that my more recent work is a heck of a lot better (sounds lame I know, but it's true, honest!).

I would like to try and sort out getting some more things uploaded over the weekend, but as I mentioned above, the page is now really, majorly complicated for a relative novice like me to update :)
(I think I'll try to get in touch with the chap that set it up for me, so he can give me an idiots guide)

At the moment, I'm using Bryce to create models rather than scenes. I appreciate what you say about using a better modeling package, but I figured I'd best 'Start Somewhere'

I'll try and get hold of 3Dmax sometime in the near future, as I did fiddle with it a couple of years back and was very impressed.

Thanks for all the comments and advice. I'll hopefully be back over the weekend with more pics for you :)

I like your work. Everything seems mellow and natural. Post some of your latest stuff!

Nice renderings, good stuff. Get a better FX Program, and you could do even greater.

whoa, those landscapes are really nice. Brilliant job!

i like the dock one, but the shadows are off.

If he would concentrate on a diffrent 3d package. bryce aint really a tool for modders
