someone give me an estimate please!

So about 2 weeks ago I ordered a brand new computer with specified parts of Ibuypower.com. It had a special deal with AMD and if I got a AMD Athlon 3500+ or more I get a free copy of Half-life 2. Well I basically am getting a new computer for the sole purpose to play nexy gen games at good speeds and settings high, and of course I was planning on finally getting HL2, but I get it free with it. Anyways, it will be here later tonight or tommorow, and what I want to know is, I dont know if its going to be a hard version of the game(cds, box) or if its jsut going to come with a cd-key on a peice of paper and I will download steam and apply the key. So my question is, for both methods, how long will it take to download before I am ready to play?

I am TOTALLY unaware of the total filesize for HL2, but its somewhere around 3GB - on my 512k connection i would give it 2 full days (leave comp on while going to college, turn off when going to sleep)

ya it took me 3 hrs to get to 30% on my 768kb connection i would just buy the cds or ask someone to borrow them

I did teh download over time thing, as in 7 different pieces as they relaesed them. Your prolly gonna have to DL for a day or so.

I downloaded mine overnight and then straight through school the next day. So from about 1 AM to about 3 PM. It could have been done earlier. Plus, I am on wireless connection so I could have lost connection during download and could have taken less time.

Sorry, that was stupid of me not to post my connection speed. I have DSL wichih usually runs at about 150kb-200kb/s.
