I wasn't able to get down to GDC today (schedule...blah), but while browsing through today's schedule of events to see what I'd be missing I came across something interesting here.

One of the panelists is Valve's art director. If you take a look at his profile blurb at the bottom of the page:

Since joining Valve he has worked on Half Life ep2, Left4Dead 1\2, Portal2 and several to be announced titles.
Valve's working on stuff we haven't even heard about yet. Which, of course, isn't surprising in the least, but kind of cool to see that there. That it says "SEVERAL" unannounced titles is particularly tantalizing.

Left 4 Dead 3 and 4. Herp Derp.

Or someone from GDC was just confused/misinformed and threw it in.

I think it's safe to assume that Valve ARE working on the next half life, if they haven't started working on it yet then what's the point. I wonder what else they'd be working on?

Good news indeed; we can rule out DOTA2 and Alien Swarm as they have both been announced, as is not included in the list of games he's contributed. He worked on Ep2, so I can say with confidence he will work on Ep3. Be interested to find out what those other projects are. I'm kind of hoping they are new IP (Pretty sweet to know they are producing Prospero). A counterstrike game but more Industrial/Research Sabotage or Infiltration rather than Counter VsTerrorist

Yeah I could see another Counter Strike game happening, something a little less arcade. We'll just have to wait and see I guess, you never know with Valve.

How about no. I'd rather they developed a new singleplayer FPS game. Just Portal and Half Life, doesn't cut it.
