something killed me in the water

I posted a while back about beinhg stuck on the beach outside right after you get the pheramones. There are all the gun turrets up on the cliffs with shieds, i just ran to the other end of the beach and was trygin to escape the gunfire and i was in the water and then i was dead. Someone asked what killed me in the water, i went back and died twice trying to get a ss, they look like eels, the screech and kill you quick, how should i open the screen shot and to make it not huge, and how do i post it?

They're leaches. They are used to stop the player just going out to sea and reaching the end of the map.

same leeches from HL1, but now they are invincible and much more dangerous. That is one thing i was dissapointed with regarding HL2. there were never any water foes in the water areas you are supposed to go to. Like there was nothing to fight. no leeches or Ichthyosaurs. or new enemies.
