somethings wrong with de_rats....please help

can someone please tell why everytime i join a server that has de_rats as the map i get dodgy looking purple and black textures?

is it an official map?

please help me solve the problem

I've got purple 2, it means that some textures are missing... so it's not a final release

Steam didnt dl the textures if you downloaded the map from a server. Download the map from a website and the textures should be fixed.

Yes, the purple areas (or purple and white checkerboard) are missing textures--and there are many different textures in de_rats. Another quick fix is to join another server or two that are playing de_rats. One of them is likely to have the missing textures and Steam will add them for you when you try to join. Once you have everything on your computer, the map will be fine on any server.

Delete the old map and put that one in its place, it has all the textures.
