So i'm sitting here in my room, and i'm listening to some Zeppelin. The Song Remains The Same comes on, and I start drumming on my desk. Ok, nothing unusual. I play the drums and do it all the time. Then the song starts to pick up, and next thing I know i'm running around my house slapping my thieghs in beats I never even thought my uninmaginative self could create, and thrashing my head back and forth.

Cough...

Anyway, what are songs that you really get into? Like, songs that make you prance around your room picking on your air guitar, or maybe that piss you off so much that you could tell your best friend off, or perhaps get you started singing allong a cappella.

For me, i'd have to say the following:

Led Zeppelin- "The Song Remains The Same" (as I just found out today :p)
Led Zeppelin- "Rock and Roll"
AC/DC- "Shake A Leg" (my fav AC/DC song. Only song that I headbang to)
Cream- "Crossroads"
Cream- "Sunshine Of Your Love"
Cream- "Tales Of Brave Ulysses"
Eric Clapton- "I Found A Love" (love the drumming in this one)
Eric Clapton- "Motherless Children"

There are others out there that I can't think of at the moment.

Anyway, what's yours?

Sgt. Baker!

"Sgt. Baker is my name I'm gonna teach you how to play the game of warfare "
RIGHT!
LEFT!
RIGHT!

etc...I love the drumming in that song. Herb rules.

From some different genres:

'Move on up' by Curtis Mayfield (the long album version)
'Smack my bitch up' by the Prodigy
'Païs tropical' by Sergio Mendes and Brasil 66

How Will I Ever Find My Way Home? - British Sea Power

Lately, Overkill - Death Comes Out To Play has made me wish I could drum. My hands hurt from all the tapping on my desk.

most of all techno.
lots of other stuff too.

most of all, the song "Beside You in Time" by Nine Inch Nails.

edits: badgie, sandstorm gets me going too :D

Björk - I Miss You (mostly the last piece, but man!)
Boston - Foreplay (Long Time)
George Benson - On Broadway
Slayer - Spirit in Black (second piece)
Tito Puente - Ran Kan Kan
Hector Lavoe - Tumba Tumbador
Most good techno - hard to find for me, but when you get your hands on a good piece, it's ON!(F.U.S.E. - FU and Mona Lisa Overdrive [from the Matrix] are good examples)

Oh, oh. Yes - Siberian Khatru really gets me smiling at the start for the first few seconds of guitar. And when the bassline round about 6:20 minutes kicks back in after the bridge, tremelo rattling like hell, that really gets me.

Parabola - Tool
Right Where It Belongs - Nine Inch Nails
Another Know It All - Chevelle
Passive - A Perfect Circle (originally done by Tapeworm)

Anything else by Tool or A Perfect Cirle.
