That is, if you are a European gamer. Sony can still suck a dick just cause I think they should though lololololololololol.

Sony has today pulled a shocking coup, using its clout as the owner of the original Ghostbusters movie license to negotiate a cheeky last minute deal with Atari and turn the Ghostbusters game into a timed PlayStation exclusive. Wii and Xbox 360 owners will now have to wait even longer for the much delayed game, while PS2 and PS3 owners can get their hands on it in June.

"We will be releasing the title on June 19th, for PS3 and PS2, to co-incide with the release of the Blu-ray movie from Sony Pictures," said a Sony rep this morning. With Sony owning the rights to the film, we really should have seen this coming. So far, this all concerns the European release, but Sony is surely looking to make this a worldwide situation.

It was believed that Sony had acquired sole publishing rights, which would pretty much kill any chance of the game releasing on other platforms. However, it has since become apparent that Atari is still publishing, with other platforms getting Ghostbusters "later this year." Only PlayStation owners will be able to enjoy the game's 25th Anniversary release.

I imagine Sony's lawyers are giving each other golf claps over this one.

Maybe I'm confused, but you're mad because sony is doing what they want with their own material?

Also, quit bitching because Sony is the publisher and the poor anti-ps3 fanboys are getting cockslapped.

I didn't see this much outcry when any other PS3 exclusive was named.......?
 
Mmmm U.S. release for all systems is still June, but the Euros have to wait a while longer for the Wii and 360 versions. No idea when they get them.
 
Oh no... Not a ghostbuster game based on a movie that was only popular in the late 80s and early 90s... Man pretty much the only great thing about ghostbusters was the movies and cartoon. I could careless about the video games now in this era.
 
And yet Europe is still Sony's heartland. I can't see why Europeans love Sony so much especially when they treat the Europeans like shit.

If it inconveniences me, sure. I mean, I'm fully entitled to bitch and whine if Valve turns TF2 into RPGFortress2, even though it's their own material.

If I'm ever going to play it, it will almost definitely be on my friend's PS3. So not really a big deal.

Did you even read the article?

Sony isn't the publishers, Atari still is.

It's merely a business deal, Sony isn't publishing nor do they own the publishing rights to the game. The simply paid a merely made a financial deal with Atari for it to be PS3 exclusive at first.

i always thought Ghostbusters was good, but overhyped, even as a kid. they were funny but my friend would watch them like once a month and it got really old
 
Ghostbusters was great, but in my opinion from a standpoint it wouldn't sell greatly as a game now. People instead will probably want a star trek game now...
 
Rather a back to the future game tbh.

As long as the 360 gets it eventually I don't care. It's Sony's game, do what they want with it. Us 360 gamers have Valve's games, Nintendo have Sega (sort of) and Sony have... well... Sony.
