On Eurogamer, SCEE Boss David Reeves is talking about why European releases are delayed due to Localisation. Well duh. So why the does the UK wait for their releases when its an English speaking country? In his words:
A) Are they getting uppity when they have to wait longer than the Americans and probably the Japanese as well?
B) does this matter at all?
Companies need to accept that there is no convenient 'simple courtesy' excuse - only manufacturing and advertising benefits - for treating Europe as a single market like this. The way SCEE talks, it's like the believe the European Union will crumble if the UK gets the 'preferential' treatment that the US takes as a given. Can someone reassure them that we won't all go to war with the Cheese Eating Surrender Monkeys over game release dates? Then maybe they may can the bullshit.
Worthy of a facepalm? I think so. If the non-English speaking European market is going to get uppity at the UK for getting games early, why:SCEE Boss said:"With PlayStation Store we could probably go in the UK almost day and date. But then what are the Germans and the French going to say to me? That I'm Anglo-centric,"
