sound delay <- help for a cookie

Everything worked fine until i used fraps for the first time with this system (i think that had something to do with it)

Now when i go ingame my sound is delayed by half a second (really noticable). Also when i tab out - the sound from the game continues.

I've tried reinstalling my sound drivers and DX but it hasn't helped.

Any ideas?

do you still have fraps open while your using programs? a sound delay is usually caused by high cpu usage.

no i unistalled fraps because it was bad :[

I dont think it's anything to do with cpu usage because recording programs such as fraps and total recorder DO delay sound because they run it through the programs, but ive uninstalled them all and reinstalled drivers and nothing works :[
