Sound Help!

Alright I got my Doom 3 today and when I go play there is no sound. I think my drivers are up 2 date not sure but I did go download the patches just 2 make sure and when I did it says it cant find the sound card or something like that. I dont know wtf is wrong with it. Sound works with everything else. You guys know anything that can help me? Please dont act stupid like u did in someone else's thread.

BTW I have a sound blaster live 5.1 sound card
