I'm not sure whether this is a stuttering problem.
Anyway, my sound plays way too fast. "Affirmative" sounds like it's being played twice as fast, and weapon reloads and gunshots sound weird.
This happens both in CS:S and HL2, and it only happened after I upgraded my gfx card.
I found out that when I was looking at areas that didn't require so much polygons (like looking at the ground), the problem wouldn't occur. But when I look forward (like in de_dust at the CT spawn) the problem is extremely bad.
cl_smooth and mat_bumpmap 0 helps, but it's not gone. I can't play CS:S like this...
Will Valve be releasing something to fix this "too fast audio" problem?
BTW: All my settings in HL 2 and CS:S are set to LOW. Everything. Including sound and the problem is still quite bad
my rig
2.4 Ghz P4
ATi Radeon 9600 PRO 256 MB (previously a NVIDIA Geforce 4 MX 420 and that one worked fine...)
512 RAM
SB Live! 5.1 (Dell)
