Ok i got my new PC, i hooked everything up but the sound doesn't seem to work, i try right clicking the speaker icon at the bottom and i get "Unable to detect soundblaster series of sound cards"

I go to control panel-sound, speech and audio devices and it sayd i have nothing hooked up

What's wrong,

:dozey: Follow the instructions carefully. The instructions will tell you what belongs where, they tell which color each plug goes into. Trust me, I was dumb enough to put plugs in the wrong places, finally looking at the instructions, they told me what color... other than that I can think of is re-install the drivers.

Everything's in the right place, i checked, The Yellow's in the yellow slot, blacks in the black, lime's in the lime

I'll try re-installing the drivers

:| It doesn't matter what color the plug is, I have a green plug in a black outlet. You just have to make sure you have your speaker plugs, headphone plugs etc etc in the RIGHT outlet, which is color coded, the instructions should tell you where to plug in. Different plugs for different setups; 2.1 could be a certain plug, but 5.1 could be 3 or something. It's complicated, follow the instructions .

I checked the plugs again, it seems to be in the right plugs, i can't even install the Drivers, It says it can't detect the sound card, yet it's there.

:| Okay, now there's a big problem... it doesn't detect the soundcard. Umm, here lemme transfer you to a professional...

Hold the windows key and press Break. Or just go to properties on My computer.
Now go to Device Manager under the Hardware tab and check if the soundcard has a yellow icon next to it. If it does, that means the drivers are not fully installed.

What I would do is right-click on it and say remove device. Reboot and it should detect it again as new hardware. Pop the CD in and reinstall drivers.

Does it say Multimedia device or is it listed as something remotely close to soundcard?

Well here's a screenshot, is there anything that might mean soundcard (everything below is pretty much just USB ports)

I'm waiting for it to upload

Crap, it won't upload,

I didnt see anything that looked like Sound card or anything
