sound problems during games.

in some games, i cannot hear certain sounds with my 5.1 speaker setup. i have the latest drivers and my sound card is a soundblaster live!. anyone have any suggestions. does that card support 5.1?? any help would be greatly appreciated.

What kind of sounds don't you hear? Do you mean sounds from certain directions are inaudible or just some random sounds?

in max payne 2, i could not hear my own gunshots or sounds that are close to me. in battlefield 2, i cannot hear anything that is more than 5 feet away from me. i used to not get any sound at all from half life 2 but i updated my drivers and now it works fine.
