k... For some reason lately my speakers have been coming through only on the right side (Also the case with headphones) so I figure that it would be a good idea to reinstall my audio drives... To my horrible discovery, after I did so, my sound doesn't work AT ALL! So I went to the Creative website, ran their troubleshooting with no satisfying result, ran the windows troubleshooting, still didn't work, and I'll be incredibly pissed if I have to buy a new sound card over this little glitch. Please, hl2.net, tell me you have the solution...

Did you happen to uninstall the drivers before reinstalling them? Or did you just download new drivers and install them? If you did the latter, there is a good chance a setting or issue which was keeping your sound from functioning properly stayed the same.

I'm actually going to uninstall the card, then reinstall it. Just called my bro (He majors in computer programming) and he chuckled when I told him... That's what he told me... hope it works... if it doesn't, it won't be long before I sprint back here.

Could be some kind of hardware failure. Be it a bad cable or bad port on the card itself. Or the speakers? Have you tried other speakers or headphones? (when the sound came out on the right side only)

Yep... Got the sound to work again, but now it sounds like shit... All distorted and crappy like being fed through a phone line... So I troubleshooted it, and my hardware is active... I think I need a new card. :(

(Cause I tried headphones before that. Plugged right into the computer, if you must know.)
