Sound was fine, now patched, its stuffed

I was one of the fortunate ones not to have a problem with the sound stutter issue, however since I patched the game via steam, my sound stutters continuously with some crackling. Is there a way to remove the patch? as a fresh install won't work as steam updates the game as soon as it connects..

Try enabling the console (Keyboard -> Advanced Options) and setting mat_forcemanagedtextureintohardware to 0 if it's set to 1. That does it for some people I guess. (No promises though...I think mine stutters more with the patch either way.)

i'll have to try that when i get home, cheers, i also have really bad frame/sec issues now aswell, the stress test used to benchmark at rougly 50fps (1280x1024), now in 800x600 the stress test can't get above 25.. Quite annoying really,
