Soundcard woes

Hello, I need some help.

I managed to record something decent (in quality, not ability ) last night, going from guitar -> GT8 mono out -> sound card in -> ASIO4ALL -> sound forge, with a relatively low latency.

Now when I try to do it again ASIO4ALL tells me that the input is unavailable...however it works fine if I select the normal WDM driver to record with in sound forge.

I can't work out which program is using the input of my program. All I did was record using ASIO4ALL, then shut down, turned on the next day and this has happened.

My sound card is a SB Live 5.1 (ollllddddddd skoooooool). I may just buy a new one, geared towards recording if I can't sort this out.

Im not familiar with sound forge... Oh btw if you want to record your guitar be sure to get an audio device with a high-impedance input! Will make everything sound less poop.
I cant understand why ASIO4ALL would be complaining about the input being unavailable unless another program was using it at the same time? Just checkin'
