A small update to the Source engine has been released over Steam, fixing some known exploits. The changes are:

  • Fixed "exec" exploit that used ":", "\\", and ":" in the paths
  • Fixed exploit with "record", "bench_start", and "logsdir"

As usual, to receive the update, just restart your Steam client.

dude, slow news :p

And Chris_D did say he'd miss my picking on the news team ;)

Small but perfectly formed. The clexec command could be exploited to run any file on the user's computer (I bet any ingame popups you had disappear) and apparently in some cases be exploited further to mess up the disk's filesystem.

Didn't Valve say they would also let us know every week what's new and what they're working on? They did that for at least the last 2 weeks, where's this week's report?
