Source issue...

I have argument with my dad about that is Source CPU depended or video card depended?

My computer specs are:
AMD XP 2400+
512DDR 266
Radeon 9800Pro 128Mt
Mobo with VIA 266 chipset

I have tested my video card with better CPU and mobo and memory:
AMD XP 3200+
512DDR 400
Mobo with Nforce2 chipset

and it gives about 28-50% better FPS in game and stress test when compared to R9600XT 128Mt with that better PC.

So how much it depends on CPU and what CPU I should have with R9800Pro 128Mt? Is A64 3000+ good choice?

I runned game with these settings:
1024x768
Everything on High
