Mod-makers and map-builders rejoice! A new version of the Source SDK has been released! In this update are some additions that have not been seen and some that have been in the public beta. Valve’s High-Dynamic Range rendering technology is now available to all mappers.
New SDK Features
  • High Dynamic Range lighting now supported in the tools
  • Day of Defeat: Source support now included
New Hammer Editor Features
  • VGUI Model browser with real-time 3D view
  • Map autosave/backup
  • Model and displacement rendering in 2D views
  • Many other small improvements and bug fixes
To see all the changes in this update, check out the Source SDK Changelist over at the Valve Developer Wiki.

Uh... Is it just me or have we had this for a while now 0_o

I've had those features in my Hammer editor for atleast a month or more.

If you've been using the beta, you've had all these. It's out of beta now.

I'm still sad there's no hdr support for regular old hl2 or dm, but the paste special feature is cool where it adds a number to the end of the entity name (saves me precious quarter-seconds).

Finally DoD: Source. Hopefully we get some good custom maps now.

It's the bestest feature in the world, ever. So far, it's saved me several hours of repeated effort. <3 Valve.

YEEEY !! :D that was about f**king time...

So, does this mean mods finallly are able to make their maps in HDR?

That might be because you started steam.exe with the -beta sdk option. This is the final release of the beta version of the sdk

You'll have to excuse vegeta897 - it takes a while for him to catch up with everyone else.

There already are some good custom maps. Tiger source, anvil, there's some quality shit out there.
