Space Empires

I have heard of the series but have never played a single game. It got a mention on the SoaSE thread, I was wondering if anyone has the games and which one is the one to get as I heard number was was really poor. Hopefully to tie me over until the new expansion of Gal Civ 2 comes out.

I have, I own 4 and 5, a tip is, they're far more FAR more complex than say the GalCiv series, so be prepared for a somewhat steeper learning curve, but once you get in there, it's great, especially with mods!

For Space Empires IV I use Carrier Battles Mod 1.6c or TDM-Modpack merged with Fyron's Quadrant Mod.

For Space Empires V I use BalanceMod 1.13+Fyron's Quadrant Mod for Space Empires IV.

I wouldn't mind both just time and money are both tight so I got to pick one.

To be honest, I prefer Space Empires IV over V, only thing V got better than IV imo is the diplomacy model.
