Space sim?

Has there ever been a space sim where a player could take part in realistic space missions or historic ones such as the Apollo moon landing? I have never heard of a sim like that. Imagine if it was done really well and you could find out how it is to live in a space shuttle for a week. You would need to adjust to the weightlessness, navigate the ship to your destination, and make emergency repairs on the exterior of the shuttle. Then when you reached the destination, you would need to make a complicated landing using the gravity of the planet. I just think a well-done space sim would rock! Please let me know if there is a good one out there. It's always been one of my dreams to go into space and with the computer techology that we have today, I thought that we could make a pretty good astronaut sim.

Microsoft should make a new space simulator, I dont know a whole lot of space sims that are out but i do know one that is called Oribiter which is free.

I don't think it would be fun at all :|

then again, Flight Simulator isn't really "fun".

Orbiter is very fun! The missions are challenging, but that's the fun! The best part is that it's free. The graphics are great too.
