The year is sometime in the future. Two races peacefully inhabit the galaxy. Human beings, and an alien race, (as yet unamed). However, there is a shift in the balence of power, a bombastic human politician rises to power on distinctly shady, yet populist policies. It doesn't take long for him to rise to a position where he deals with the aliens... during a unified congress meeting he denounces the 'xenomorph scum' to their faces, and expresses his intention to make war on them, leaving their planets broken and the stars stained with their blood. This one man became responsible for degenerating the galaxy into a bloody war. The retaliation to these comments was swift and brutal. Alien dropships landed on mankind's fronteir worlds, their mission to maim and kill.. their honour inflamed, the peace loving aliens quickly turn to brutal and efficiant killers.
The 'Coalition of Mankind's military starts conscripting. There is initial resistance and draft-dodging, for not many want to fight a race they have traded with and befriended. Jack Kennan (the politician, who has used the chaos of the initial attacks to gain near-absolute power in government) dispatches armed Intendants to make sure that the draft isn't dodged, with orders to use lethal force on the loved ones of draft-dodgers.
Thats where your character comes in. Brought into the army kicking and screaming, you just don't want to be fighting in a bloody & pointless war. There are no grand schemes, no saving the world. Just looking after you and those you care about. Can you survive a year on the front? Space Soldiers wants you to find out.
Ok, theres the idea out, and the plan would be to create a violent, brutal shooter, no crosshairs, just rough Computer-Aided-Targetting.. the idea is to convey a little of the horror of war, but in a Sci-Fi setting. You'll be thrown out on missions, but the AI will happily do them, but you'll have to survive the missions, you don't have to complete them.. you can be a coward and hide, but you may end up being excuted by an Intendant..
Any C&C?
