Ok if u want to do this, u must know how to spawn any monster in hl:s and have noclip. i was fooling around in hl:s and found a mini map, sort of. its the same thing as the mini map from de_dust in cs:s. i thought it would b fun to spawn monsters in there. so i spawn a grunt and then another appears in the back ground but 10x its size. so i tried this with 5 gargs. i have attached a pic of the results.i have more tho. i did this in "surface tension".

Very cool indeed. Too bad the enemies won't do anything but stand there.

It would have been amazing to have a Godzilla-type battle going on in the distance. :D

I like the G-man one, but the Gargs are still my favorite. :)

lol u cant have a godzilla fight but if u spawn about 3 barneys and 3 marines u will see them fight. ill try to get screenys of that.

Hmmm... does anyone know why that is happening though? My guess is that it would have something to do with the skybox. Although I am still quite new to this whole mapping thing. But I especially wnjoyed the G-man one. Now imagine that with the HL2 G-man.

The "mini map thing" is actually the 3d skybox, whatever is in there will be scaled to a larger size.

Imagine maps where Godzilla and Mothra are fighting in the skyline outside the map. :)

Off topic, but why does your magnum look so pretty and birght and stuff? Mine usually looks really dark like I'm in a dark room or something. In fact, all your weapons look shinier and prettier than mine. And I'm on full settings...why!!!?? I want the pretty!

By the way, this is really fun. In HL2 its cool to spawn striders there, they're huge.

Now that sounds like a project for someone with mapping skills... Have a scripted sequence play out in the sky with a Giant Garg attacking a citadel or something.

I remember in Unreal Tournament you could spawn enemies and change their size with a console command, you could also do it with weapons and player models was ****ing funny, In multiplayer we used to always make are player models 20x their normal size and would look like a godzilla fight with guns. Was even better to do it in Rune cause then you had giancatic Swords that reached across the map. Ah the good old days of the ut engine...

Yes I remember this... I was wondering, what actually makes HL2's skyboxes different from UTs? 3D skyboxes are surely something that has been around since the days of Unreal 1. and some of UT2004's are pretty damned good as well...
