ok I have the creative 5200 5.1 surround sound model speakers. I got this computer back in September of '03 for HL2 and so far everything has been great, it runs FarCry at a great FPS. Well I was cleaning around my room one day and I moved the subwoofer w/ all the connections and then I moved it back to it's orig. spot. Now my speakers make short staticy bursts, only every once in a while and I have no idea what's causing this. Can someone help me out? Thanks

Are all the plugs firmly pushed into the subwoofer/back of your computer?
Also, is there any chance of interference nearby (ie. RF tower, or something to that effect)? My neighbor has a 50' RF tower for his ham radio, and it screws my surround system up at times

It doesn't seem like it would be interference from any outside source since he only moved it around inside his room and it wasn't happening before.

But like Shuzer said it sounds like some of the connectors aren't properly pushed in.

lmao I think I figured out what it was, I usually charge my cell phone on top of my sub-woofer, well I put the cell phone charger on the other side of the room and now it's good, doesn't do anything, thanks guys :)

yah i get that sometimes too. and its loud when it happens.

I was fixing a sub-woofer at a clients house and I of-course left it on. I unplugged the wire from that back and it did the really loud 'BOOOF" yea i heard the first part of it but then my ears were ringing and I couldn't hear anything. I spent the next 30 at their house (without hourly charge) recovering and checking if my ears were bleeding. By the time I left I could hear a little bit about 20%.

I'm back to normal now :)
