:naughty: As we know from E3, Splinter Cell 3 has been given an official name Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. It is planned to be released around the Christmas season. It is going to be released and available for PC and Xbox.

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 13, 2004--Ubisoft, one of the world's largest video game publishers, today announced Splinter Cell 3 (working title), the third blockbuster in the Splinter Cell® franchise, will officially be called Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell® Chaos Theory(TM). In addition to the PC, the game will be available on the Xbox® video game system from Microsoft for Holiday 2004, as well as on the N-Gage platform, published by Gameloft®. Details on other platforms will be forthcoming.

This one will definitely be the best of them all. :D

A short but sweet article about some of the new features in the game. Read it here.

Anyone know anything about multiplayer? I was reading in my gamepro and it said that there will be 2 spies but it didn't say how many on the other team, it would be really cool if they had more than 2.

the cooperative will be 2 player, but it will still have the 2v2 like pandora tomorrow has for those adversarial gamemodes

I hate 2v2, so crappy, makes the developers seem lazy and uncreative.

thanks for the news, tis unfortunate they went for a stupid cheesey sub title :p at least this one is better then most

it would suck with more than 2v2, there would be no stealth aspect.

There could be stealth if there were 2 spies(maybe 4[2 teams of 2]) and a bunch of mercs. Just make the maps huge.

well yeah. i suppose there could be 64 spies versus 64 mercs in a huge city. but itd be lame. if the two teams arent gonig to interact with each other, why not just be on separate servers? :x

:dozey: Have you ever played a mutliplayer online where you or people have outnumbered you let's say like it's a 10-3 situation, you'd get pwned as well as it gets boring on both sides for you won't see that much action. On a big map especially, while mercs are flooding it would take a while for a player to make his/her move to progress. And while those spies are hiding, the Mercs are having a jolly good time waiting for some action?

It could be set up like this, there are 2 spy teams of 2 who start at different spots. There are 2 merc teams of4 who start at different spots. They each get an AK and 2 clips of ammo. In the room they start in there could be some equipment that they pick up but only 1 person can pick up 1 thing and then no one else gets it. There could be a flashlight, mines, turrets, motion detectors, remote cameras, grenades and etc. 5 objectives could be scattered around the map a good distance from eachother and your team could only effectivly cover one, but they should have enough time to set up mines, turrets, cameras and motion detectors guarding the 5th one before the spies have time to attack(maybe they could get a 2 minute or so headstart). So they leaves 2 teams of 4 to guard 4 objectives. And now only 2 of them have flashlights.

:naughty: Okay, that sounds reasonable. Would be better to have more teammates to communicate to as well.

That is another thing, they could add radios, only 1 person on each 4 man team would get one and they are the only people who can talk to anyone not in shouting range.
