Spoilers

I have a request for the mods/admins here.

Can you make an announcement defining what is a spoiler? It is a confusing word because people don't know what a spoiler means. It seems some people think a spoiler is something that is from official released information (like a review or preview). While other people classify a spoiler as a unreleased/unknown element from HL2 and have the need to release these unknown plot element to the public in the form of a spoiler.

It is confusing. I almost read a thread where such a predicament happened. Most spoilers used here are relatively minor and don't have much impact on HL2 so I usually read them (usually grabbed from reviews of magazines). However, this one apparently contains a large spoiler. I was lucky and didn't read it. However, the poster justified it saying he put it under a spoiler.

What is the official HL2.net stance on spoilers and the use of spoiler tags?

isn't a spoiler giving a plot away in a movie or games, like so and so died or this happened at the end etc. but yeah i agree with blah about the official halflife2.net stance on spoilers and tags, i want to kno too
