I used Paint Shop Pro. I make the spray transparent , then convert it to a vtf. But whenever I do the spray in the game, its always a white background. Yeah I know blah blah PhotoShop is better, I dont care about that.

Whats the problem? What am I doing wrong?

you have to save it as a 32bit tga the 32bit has the alpha map.

or (if its an apropriate spray) send it to me and i can do it.

can you export as a bmp with alpha? if not then yes you need photoshop. $700 !!! :|

either way, you'll need to add an alpha-channel manually. I only know how to do it with Photoshop so I cannot help you out with PSP. I am also not sure if a 24bit TGA supports alphachanneling.

it dosnt, only 32 has alpha. and photoshop will automaticly make the alpha map.

... then i must be using somthing other than photoshop ...

ok ok, photoshop creates an alpha channel. That part is true. But that alphachannel is simply set to show everything. (white). If you want to have certain parts transparant or not, you still have to adjust the alpha channel yourself. I tested it with Photoshop CS

hmm well im using 7, all you have to do is set the background to trasparent and it dose the alpha for you.

7 > CS
