While it's a great sounding idea, and looks brilliant, I'm not convinced that the "paper mask" on disguised spies works that well in practice. On several occasions I've found myself near one of my team's spies when enemies are around, and in the heat of the moment had no idea who they were disguised as, which is annoying to say the least.

Of course, I'll shoot at them and back round a corner to lend an air of verisimilitude to their disguise just in case anyone is watching, but not knowing whether they're pretending to be a pyro, a scout, or whatever is distracting.

If you mouse over them, it says what they are disguised as. D:

I love the spymasks, such a brilliant idea.

But I don't see how it's important to know what someone is disguised as. Even if it is, the mouse over tells you so it's a bit of a non-issue.

On this subject, does anyone know if shooting a friendly spy shows bleeding to the enemy? I believe I read that Valve went through these lengths to make spies believable and it would be pretty awesome. But don't know if it's true.

100% fine. You see who they are disguised as first off, and secondly, it's the awesome tongue in cheek humor that makes TF2 that much better.

It's not that hard to tell at all, and if you're blind enough to not see what the words say when you point your crosshair at them, you must be BLIND!

Really, what you're complaining about is one of those petty little arguments that are the equivalent to a child screaming "This chocolate chip cookie doesn't have enough chocolate!" when your mother spent hours preparing them and cooked the recipe just right, and everyone else seems to really enjoy them.

Good day. :D

I think the paper masks are a nice touch of humor in an already funny game and are perfectly fine the way they are. I like your idea though of shooting spies on my team to enhance their disguise, I might start doing that to help them out.

the paper masks all look kind of the same. They should be bigger and with a bolder picture

Just move your crosshair over them? Jeez. Some people nit-pick far too much these days.

I think it was a great idea having the mask.....it just all fits in with the game, no problems here:thumbs:

I love the masks.

One neat thing I never noticed until a couple days ago was that the Scout mask actually has a three-dimensional headset microphone coming out of it. I lol'd a bit after seeing that, it's such a nice detail.

All that should matter when you are in the middle of the battle is that you can tell that they are wearing masks. Then you know for sure that they are not enemy spies. What is on them is not as important.

If you're shooting at a disguised spy who is your teammate I think that's good for him or her, if you catch my drift ;)

its a cartoon game. therfor, it seems only fitting to have the spy wear a paper mask and still be nearly impossible to detect. i bet the first time you saw it, you loled. i did. its what valve do!

I must admit, I lol'd :D
