Ok, i've got spyware!

Many programs, but I think what I've got is:

UCMore - The Search Accelerator
TrustIn
Search Bar
PopCap Browser Plugin

Any of these (or a combination of these) are making Mozilla Firefox popup with ads to any number of anti-spyware/porn/enlargement/spam sites every couple of minutes, or possibly when a keyword is mentioned (When I put UCMore into Wikipedia, 3 popped up at once).

Tips on removal? Add/Remove programs doesn't seem to work, they reinstalled on the next reboot.

Thanks!

Jintor.

ad aware is a very good spyware remover you could also try windows defender beta 2 as well

Jintor.

That's what's called "System-hook" Most spyware work same as viruses,
1) Not asking or waiting for permission from system or system user.
2) Reinstalling without user knowledge and consent after they have been cleaned by leaving self-executable file somewhere deep in System Root to reinstall itself next reboot.
3) Residing deep in the System-Root with either Fake name, Fake registry Key and sometimes totally hiding from user, Anti Virus/Spyware programs.
And more.
Your only solution, other than totally formatting disk is to get good inti-spyware program Like "Spybot S&D" and use it to wipe them out.
Sometimes anti Spyware programs will need to reboot system and before Windows loads anything is the only way to clean most clever spyware/viruses.

Good Luck.

ad-aware and spybot scans daily for the next week might do the trick

I've found that Spyware Doctor does a much better job than both of those. Give that a d/l.

Registry Mechanic is also a great program to run afterwards.

After you've cleaned them out you should consider making sure you have the following installed:

1) A firewall
2) Spybot search and destroy (updated reasonably regularly)
3) Windows defender Beta 2

I have these and the only spyware I ever get is just tracking cookies. Don't care much about them.

edit- Oh and Joule spyware doctor appears to be better than the rest since it makes out as if certain things are more dangerous than they really are. I tend to ignore about 90% of what it finds.

It's good but it's too slow. Get it if it's a last minute jobby.
