From Pitchfork:
According to Pitchfork, and no doubt a few other sites, Warp included most likely, this news has been floating around for a good two weeks or so now but I'm just coming to hear it so whatever. Regardless, there you go.
''Delta-v'' can be heard over at http://www.myspace.com/warprecords
It's pretty good. Very different to anything I've heard Tom do before. It's all a bit rock/metalish but as the song progresses it starts to flow more Jenkinson-like. Basically, it starts getting messier and messier which is no bad thing. Not bad, not great, but I eagerly await the new album with much anticipation.
Way to curb expectations with that title, Jenkinson! Squarepusher-- the nom de jam of English IDM pioneer and really good bassist Tom Jenkinson-- will issue his full-length follow-up to 2006's Hello Everything on October 27 in the UK from Warp.
It's called Just a Souvenir, and, well, let's just hope it gets a little more use than an engraved keepsake spoon, eh? You can catch your first taste of the record via the manic-as-ever "Delta-v" over in Forkcast.
Squarepusher will have plenty of time to collect knickknacks before a couple of live dates way off in December, including a set at the Mike Patton/Melvins-curated ATP Nightmare Before Christmas.
Just a Souvenir:
01 Star Time 2
02 The Coathanger
03 Open Society
04 A Real Woman
05 Delta-v
06 Aqueduct
07 Potential Govaner
08 Planet Gear
09 Tensor in Green
10 The Glass Road
11 Fluxgate
12 Duotone Moonbeam
13 Quadrature
14 Yes-Sequitur
