Its so nice that more and more developers refer to them as "open beta", when it really is the regular demo. So call it "open beta" and ignore some of the bugs; voila, a demo where people say "Oh this is a bug... Ah, its a beta, not a demo, no problem!".

eh ive seen lots of games that had awesome screenshots, but game turned out to be crap (most recently, soldner).

Now that doesnt mean stalker will be the same, but lets just say screenshots/ video clips dont do it for me anymore

It runs great on an A64 3800+, 1GB RAM and an FX5600 Ultra. This was at 1024x768 in DX8.1 mode.

Not terribly helpful information but that was the only spec they had at the show.

Edit: Those screenshots shown before look like the DX8.1 multiplayer.

I'm sure you mean GF6800 Ultra, as no company would showcase their game on a system that good with that crap a graphics card.

No, I double checked and triple checked. It ran it beautifully too.

well I dont know a heck about that computers stuff

but if you say that runs great on that requiriments maybe the minimun will be not so high

cool, i have a little secret on how to get into the beta once signups begin but if i dont ill still get to play it one way or another eventually. thanks for the heads up.

Just because it's implimented doesn't mean it'll benefit the game.
It could end up as a glorified tech demo, really. To me, the gameplay looks crap as is. It doesn't look exciting from a gameplay perspective, only from a technology perspective.

yeah the game play does look boring, with the occasional mutant dog or anomaly springing up. Still, it'll be good to play through for 10-30 minutes at a time, like i do with morrowind. I dont think it'll be a game you just cant press exit on.. like UT04 or Alpha Centuri (/me cries at not being able to play this on XP).
