Stalker Delayed yet again...

Yep. I saw that last night. I don't know what the game plays like..so I'm really not waiting to much for this game.

i wonder if it makes economic sense to set false release dates, and then delay. i'm not accusing anyone of doing this, but it seems like it might be good for sales if you get the name out early. even if some people get turned off by the delays, you're probably getting more than offsetting benefit from the free advertising of review mags and whatnot.

for a huge name like, say, hl2, probably wouldn't matter much. but for a small developer with no reputation, it could actually be beneficial. maybe?

I agree ...stalker has built up momentum over the last few months that an announcement of a delay actually matters to some gamers. Good or bad, publicity is still publicity. I'll still buy this game regardless of when it comes out

may ?!

.. i think these guys are just trying to be cool like valve and pick new release dates out of a hat.

damn that sucks.. I was looking forward to this game.. by the time it comes out I am going to be busy with BF 2.

Meh... :|

I am awaiting F.E.A.R. :bounce:

Not really upset. Many games coming out lately.

Heard about this a day ago or so. Not to chuffed about it tbh im really looking forward to this game...at least they released some screenshots with the bad news though :P look amazing as always.

Boohoo, still haven't seen a single good thing from this game...

I am not so excited about this game cuz sure will not run in my Pc

I cant wait for this game.... i hope they fix all the fears i have about single player and the scale of the game. :D

How do you know for sure? A lot of people was saying this about Doom3 and its quite possibly the best looking game ever created on lowest settings and very playable on low end PC's.

HL2 did not invent delays :P

It's just very very good at making you think so.

I have a reasonable comp, it's not what I'd call low end, but Doom 3 stuttered like shit on lowest detail, lowest res, in a ****ing window.

Well that depends what you generalize lowend as. I think of lowend as a 128mb average gfx card (£60) 2.5ghz~ cpu (£40 - £50) 256ddr333 (£25)

My bro ran it at 1024x780 medium/low settings and got playable fps for the most of it (i consider playable as 35+) using a ti4600 and 2.6+ amd.

Stalker though looks like a doom3 style game and not even the latest gfx will be able to play it on highest settings with high aa/af.

Okay, our definitions of low end are considerably different :P

Damn kids with their music...

the alpha runs good on AMD 1.2 ghz Duron, 256 DDR (pc 2700) and GeForce FX 5200 128mb.

not a surpise though. will probably be one hell of a good game! even that little old leak has so much atmophere in it that it`s crazy. jaysus give me stalker.

The weapon models sometimes look very nice, and sometimes very shitty in the screens. Take a look at the new batch for example. :(

Anyway, I hope they have upped the animations, they looked like crap in the E3 movies - but did look significantly improved in the recent trailers. I love the world geometry though, they've done quite a good job there. :)

I really hope they properly optimize the real-time dynamic soft shadows and offset bump mapping properly...I don't want to play the game at 20 fps.

Bit obvious it wasn't going to make 2004...
