Music in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.!

Merregnon Studios, in association with GSC Game World and THQ, have announced that S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Oblivion Lost, an epic first person action/RPG often compared to Doom 3 and Half Life 2, will feature a live orchestral score composed by Markus Holler and recorded with the FILMharmonic Orchestra.
The recording sessions will take place in Prague in May 2004. Ten minutes of music will be recorded for the main title and end credits of the game.
Thomas Boecker, manager of Merregnon Studios and music producer for S.T.A.L.K.E.R., commented:
"Although there are many orchestras out there, there are not many which are used to recording game music and dedicated to the needs of game music. With the FILMharmonic Orchestra we have experienced players."

A new interview with Alexei Sytyanov appeared at TotalVideoGames.com.
There was lack of interviews during some months. Though this one does not contain really "new" information, you should nevertheless read it! TVG gave S.T.A.L.K.E.R. a 9/10 rating and thinks it's coequal with DOOM 3 and Half Life 2.

Stalker does look like a cool cool game though.

I always knew 2004 would be a good year. So many games are coming out that year...I leave collage, we finnaly get past the recent financial difficulties, we go to the south of france for two weeks about 2 days after my exams finnish, i get put on the insurance of the Focus (Ford) so that i can do some fo the driving down in France (I really like driving...really really). Im gonna start on my Art Foundation course as well in September. So many good things

I don't know yet if I'll buy it, but I'm glad to see more games looking at orchestral/professional soundtracks. Nothing is better than a game (or a movie, in point of fact) that uses sound well.
