Stalker Question (Spoilers)

In the "Our Benefactors" chapter in half-life 2, you see a bunch of Stalkers with metal plates covering their faces all around the Citadel, but when you pass that one in the Stalker pod it has a metal plate covering the the top of the face only with eye holes (and screaming a lot ^_^.). I also noticed it in the Episode 1 train and sometimes in the citadel. Are they damaged or a different gender or "combat" types or something?
Also, when the one in Half-life 2 roars, it's mouth doesn't move. Is this a error or part of the game.
Sorry, I know this is stupid, I just found it a bit strange.

All stalkers appear to be the same model to me, they may have updated it between the two games but I have seen little evidence of this. I also got that bug for some strange reason.

The texture of the stalker got a bit of a update in Episode one, as we weren't close and personal with them in Half-life 2. So there were just aesthetic models at the time, just there for the scenery.

I'll try and get a comparasion pic.

The lack of mouth movements isn't a glitch. See that metal hole in their throats? That's what they breath and scream through.

Ep1 stalker has actual eyes and mouth animations.

HL2 one didn't have any of these model bones.

The bit in Episode One when the train crashed, light comes on and there's one screaming right in your frickin' face spooked me the first time. And all other times following that one.

I'd be less unnerved if they were aliens, like I thought when I first saw them. But once I found out the process that goes into making them...Euch...
