Standalone project looking for someone to help with story

Hi there.

I am working on a standalone project which will be freeware built on the torque game engine. The content of the game has a very stylalised look and feel. It is an adventure game similar to the style of Monkey Island or Space Quest.

I have written very roughly the underlining story but it needs alot of work and to have alot more humour put in.

I have already completed quite a few of the models so if you are interested in working on the story with me and would like to see what ive written so far and the 3d models post your email here and ill contact you.

Im glad you guys are interested. yorick i sent you an email but im not sure if it sent it out. anyway I decided to post what i have written up here as it isnt very much:

You start the Game with the knowledge that your father who was a wealthy man has died and you have gone to see the attorney about his will

You learn this from a video cut scene or a voice over

The attorney’s office is small there is a plant in one corner and a filing cabinet on the other side there is a desk in the middle with lots of papers on it and stuff the attorney is sitting behind it he is old and has a moustache

When you leave the attorneys office you are in a small town there is a cobblestone road there are the following buildings

Attorney’s office
Shop
Tavern
Docks
Bridge
Tower
Chapel
Woods

At the shop you can buy the following things
Sword

You can ask the shopkeeper about getting a wife

He I'm afraid we don’t sell wives here mate try talking to big al he can get hold of pretty much anything

Tavern
In the tavern you can speak to big al

He tells you he sells Tai brides somehow you pay him and you have to collect it from the dock however when you get there it turns out it’s an inflatable sex doll

You can give the doll to the shop keeper in exchange for a sword

Bridge
There is a troll under the bridge that jumps out he has an axe and if you try to walk past him he will kill you need the sword to kill him and get past him

With the sword you can get past the troll

After getting past the troll on the bridge and seeing the tower

You can ask people about the tower and they will tell you to speak to the wise old man who lives in one of the houses

He will tell you that according to the legends there is a beautiful woman who has been in the tower in a deep sleep for centuries

He tells you he has some equipment that can help you get up into the room in the tower but he wants something from you in exchange he says that there is a rare mushroom growing in the woods but there are too many goblins in the woods for him to go out there he says if you get him the mushroom he will let you use the equipment

When you leave the house there is a small opening in the entrance to the woods there are many goblins in the woods that you have to fight until you find the mushroom

When you take it back the old man he gives you a crossbow with a grappling hook attached to it

You can then shoot this at the window and climb up the rope inside is a four poster bed with a woman in a bridal gown lying on it there is also some furniture and you can find a pair of cymbals that you can pick up

You cannot wake her up though so you need to go back to the wise old man

He tells you only a kiss from the purest heart can wake her

When you go back you can kiss her and she will wake up it will then cut to you two outside the tower

Now you can use the cymbals on the priest in the chapel to wake him up and he will marry you

Now when you go to the attorney’s office he tells you he is scamming you and taking all the money and your wife he then knocks you unconscious

When you recover you find out from someone outside that he was heading for the docks

At the docks there is now a big ship but you cannot get on it without a boarding pass

When you get the boarding pass you can get onto the ship








That is the end of the first part of the game or the first level

The main gaps in this are:

How to pay for the Tai bride what could you trade with big al

When you go to the dock to get the Tai bride the guy in charge is on his break how do you get him to get back to work to get the Tai bride for you

How do you get the boarding pass?

If you have any ideas of these three things that would be great

Also tell me if you have any ideas to add more humour and or puzzles to it

And finally tell me what you think of this first part of the game and what parts you don’t like or think should be changed etc

Sorry about the lack of full stops or commas some of the buttons are missing on my keyboard
