I remember playing Star Ocean 3 a few years ago...I started it up, watched the amazing intro, and was hyped for a decent sci-fi RPG, and got what I want for the first hour or so...then my alarms started going off when the game dumped me on some medieval planet. A few hours later, I realized that this was just going to be another generic fantasy RPG, and stopped playing out of disappointment.

Hopefully SO4 will be a bit better in that regard.

First one was awesome possum. I think I played the second (though I can't be sure it wasn't the 3rd), and it was okay but not as good, and I got stuck on a certain boss near the end that killed my will to finish it. I remember it was big boss fight, go through a portal, another big boss fight... and you couldn't save or do anything in between. Was horseshit.

Ok, well, now I'm pretty glad when I bought my 360 two months ago I chose it instead of the PS3. I was 50/50, because I really just wanted the GTAIV experience. Finally went with Live to play with friends.

Hopefully this'll be better than the previous ones. 360 needs more RPGs That Don't Suck.

At least the 360 owners are getting some JRPG love. I've never really been a fan of the series after the 2nd one, so this really won't sway my decision of buying a PS3.

Being that it's a fairly big name title, odds are it'll be a timed exclusive. Although to be fair, I don't think this news matters to most PS3 owners on this site as there's not a lot of JRPG lovers here. So, at least, there won't be "PS3 fanboys going apeshit" here sadly.

Well, to be fair, the Western game industry seems to suffer from the opposite effect...you can't make a sci-fi game nowadays without making the entire cast a bunch of scarred macho space marines who wear armor the size of a small car and live in a world of brown and black(with some red because of all the blood being sprayed everywhere).
