Star Wars Galaxies

I just bought and installed Star Wars Galaxies because I thought it looked like a fun and interesting game. Does anyone who has the game have any pointers or help that they can give me since I'm brand new to the game. I haven't started my free month because I just got it tonight and I don't have anytime to play. A few questions I have are:

1. Should I be a human as my character class? I like my characters to be well rounded with no stengths/weaknesses. Would this be a good choice for me?

2. What type of profession should I be? I like to fight monsters mostly in other MMORPGs. Which one would favor me most?

3. If there are multiple servers(which I'm sure there are) which is the best one to be on? If any.

4. Are there any people here that are common players and would like to team up with me and probably team me a few things?

you can't be a storm trooper persay...but you can get stormtrooper armor. I used to have it but canceled my subscrpition after a month cause it got bored.

Start off with any profesion you can have a gun with. Being a brawler is tuff and it sucks. I cant remember what its called, but it should be obviouse which one is the shooting one

But seriously come to Ahazi....start on Naboo, If possible start in Moenia. Its the rebel city of Naboo, if your into the whole evil thing then go to Theed on Naboo.

When did it come out, because two years ago i was really looking foward to it, but i kinda forgot about it and didn't even realise it was out.
I'd go a Zabrak ( I think its the same species that Darth Maul is) and probley a bounty hunter.

I heard that the fighting classes are so ****ing horrible its unbelieveable so be a dancer or something. Gamespy has a relook review where the re-review it after 3 months that they just released a couple of days ago go here to read it:http://www.gamespy.com/articles/october03/galaxies2/

From what ive heard its a pretty horrible game. But dont return it yet most MMO games change alot over time so if you got the patience let it sit there on your table for another 3-6 months before playin it.(inless you do one of those non-combat classes they are supposed to be fun.)

I dont think its bad at all. And I've had it since day one. Im not sure what you mean by fighting classes. I've mastered the pistol and it sure as hell isnt horrible. Its pretty damn exiting to hunt the evil species of Ewok on Endor. Or to be able to walk for 20 minutes and not even cover half the map. Pretty soon player mounts will be introduced. Which means quicker ways to get around. And eventualy there will be a space expantion alowing you to own your own starship and travel between planets without having to buy a ticket for the shuttle.
They defenitly plan on doing more with this game.

Yea ofcourse thats whats got me intrested in it. All the possiblities. Im not trying to say its definetly horrible, i dont know i havent played it. But im just saying from what ive heard supposedly combat is bad. They say that PvP for instance is way too unbalanced and medics are a rare find. Is this true? Dont know but today im going to pick up a PS prepay card im gonna try to get back in it now since theres a incentive know to defend.

you're right about one thing, there is some way to do it.

unfortunately your friend may have been misinforming you. There are no (zero) jedi throughout the entire game

there aren't any jedi on any of the servers for the whole game.

meaning Total Jedi in SWG: zero

they said they would make a formal announcement about which server got the first jedi... and that has yet to happen.

not meant as a flame, just trying to keep facts straight.

It says I got a month but it wont let me play until I subscribe and its trying to make me pay for a month.

you have to subscribe, but the credit card wont be billed for a month (the free month) Then after the free month it asks you if you still want to pay.


[edit] And the free month dosnt count for your billing plan in any way....like if you do the 3 month deal, you'll still pay the 40$ for the 3 months, but the free month is added on to that. So you would be getting 4 months off the bat[/edit]
