Anyone else who's played this game?

So far I've played for a few hours and gotten a little into the first area (mining station) and it's alright. The start was pretty boring in my opinion, but many say that the game becomes alot better as you keep playing.

The graphics are so-so for a game as new as this, but the game and its RPG aspects are very good. I think the dialouges, and the way you handle them, are great. There's also alot of neat tricks and gadgets (that you find) to use in combat. The atmosphere is pretty good, it really feels like an "early" Star Wars universe. I can't wait to discover what the game is like later on, I've heard that there'll be planets like Nar Shaddaa to explore.

(Slight spoiler) If anyone has gotten past the area where you go into the docked ship with your 'friends', let me know. I'm currently in a small area with some locked escape pods, and I don't know what to do next.

I've played it. It's just as good as the other. No better or worse.

Btw, you've gotten the charts from the computer right? You've gone WAY to far in the opposite direction where you're at. Go ALL the way back to where you first enter the ship and look to the right. There should be a door. Unlock it and go from there. Its a weird level design I know.

I got it when it appeared in the UK... my computer is dying and its numerable bugs didn't help my temper, but get past the sluggish beggining and the irritatingly linear story sections and it's a pretty damn good game.

One day I'll find out why my journal broke or why conversations keep muting and skipping... until then, yay restart button.

Hmm isn't there a demo out, or is that a different one of the hundred-and-something Star Wars games out already? I'm interested to just give it a try...

That's Republic Commando.

I'm gonna pick this game up tomorrow, I played it on the Xbox and found it pretty sweet, hopefully the PC version is just as good.

I love the game. Of course, I loved the original, so obviously I'm going to love this game. Unfortunately, it's buggy as hell.

During one cinematic, a character was supposed to walk through an open door, than the door closes behind him. Instead, the door closes in front of him, and for the rest of the cinematic, you can see him continuously run into the wall. It was weird.

My mate's got it on Xbox and it's great. It's not buggy at all, which is strange considering all the things I've been hearing. Perhaps the PAL version was fixed up.

They should release the demo >.>
One thing I've been wondering...
Is the fighting turn-based or it freeform like in Jedi Outcast?

It's not turnbased, but it's not like Jedi Outcast. It's a realtime version of turnbased fighting, sort of.

Still, I think it'd be awesome if they merged the Jedi Knight series with Kotor. Screw the fools that can't cope with action-packed realtime combat!

SO MANY BUGS... worst part is I can't tell what are recognised issues and what are the result of my increasingly pained hardware. Uggh.

Keeps crashing at various stages of the loading process, and after (LITERALLY) ten or twelve restarts and various fiddling with the settings I can make it play near-indefinitely. Alternating between options seems to force it to work...

But then again Dawn of War died on me in a similar way. I'm beginning to think my PC just doesn't want to co-operate with my evil regime. Bah.

Personally I haven't seen any bugs so far, it works perfectly. I find it strange that it is so buggy for other people..

edit: By the way, I was wondering if there's any way you can walk (instead of running).

The only bugs Ive had trouble with is speed leaving the screen fuzzy after its stoped and a weird lag bug on Dant that now and then throws me accross the grass plains.

I wasn't particularly keen on the original, might, however, give this one a shot.

I haven't really found any star wars games fun. In fact I dont find the movie all that great, same with Lord of the Rings. I guess im not the kind for the mystical-world-of-fairies-and-lightsabres kinda genre. I like The Matrix trilogythough, but thats based on a more nerdy alternate world :D

For those who are saying: "I didnt like the other one but I'll try this one." Don't waste you're money. It's just more of the same, which is a good thing for some people and a bad thing for others. Trust me.

I'll take that advice ;)

I was hoping for something slightly less boring and slow paced, ah well, can't have everything. :)

Well, for those of us who look for story in an RPG as opposed to edge-of-the-seat action, it's a great game.

I'm enjoying it :)

Wait...so is the story better than the 1st? Apart from the twist I thought the story blew in KOTOR1. They explain the whole thing in the first few hours and the rest of the game you spend your time getting map coordinates for the final area... The game was ok besides the story for me. I thought it was too easy though.

I'm sold

Well, I'm passing.
I'll stick with Jedi Outcast.

Hold B(deafult) to walk...Im on the planet Onderon now. Its a pretty intresting place. Bounty hunters on my ass all the time, but they are no match for my double-bladed green lightsaber with the best crystal in the game :)

I think it's great although iam being plagued by bugs as well, converstions skipping, movies with no sound and not being able to win a swoop bike race because whenever i finish it says "You need to finish the race to qualify".
Hopefully patch will fix these problems, oh yeah the auto patcher don't work for me.

It is a good game. Some things annoy me though. Sometimes it crashes when loading a new map. On Dantoiine I had the bug where you get huge lag and start warping around the place.

The conversation system isn't so great. You can go trough the dialog options with no progress in the conversation whatsoever. Ask something and the character tells you lots of stuff and the next thing you know, you're selecting the same question that made him say those things. The dialog options which you selected don't disappear after you've asked about them. Also, your party on the ship don't have much to say, at least not as much as in Kotor1. They too have the repetiviness in their conversations. I wish I would have more interesting dialogs with the characters. Maybe I will, because I'm not in the end of the game yet (maybe 16-20h played).

I just finished the game, it was great! Kinda boring in the begining though. But i really enjoyed it, it was a worthy sequel to KOTOR....

This is how my character looked at the end of the game..*no spoilers*

Westie: I have that exact same swoop race bug!

When the match starts my "bike" is clearly raised too far off the track and often I can't move past high obstacles like rafters- I can bypass that by holding my right mouse button (bound to the "repulsor jump") before the race starts. That allows me to progress normally- until I cross the line, where I'm invariably told that I've failed to qualify or even finish the race.

Of course I've been trying for over five hours to start the game up with no success... so I haven't played for a while

One of the buggiest games I've ever played in my life. I don't know how they could release something so bug ridden.
