Looking forward to getting a console and playing this game. watched my friend play the demo and was impressed with what I saw.

as a long time SW fan I also knew this was going to be shit.

*takes off hat*

good night sweet prince.

From what it looks like, all you need is the demo and then you've basically got everything that the game has to offer.

I've heard it's engine is pretty good so it's a shame that it's not coming out for the PC - there could have been some really good mods made for it.

the engine is on gta iv which is coming to pc though

Lambda, erm, no it isn't, it only licenses the same AI-physics engine(Euphoria) as GTA4, that's all.

Otherwise it's a completely different graphics engine etc.

Might be good to do some fact-finding missions before making such statements.

Sorry. I only meant the physocs engine euphoria was the same. woops :p

lol prick much? :D

Well lets not forget that a game doesnt have to have the 'whole package' as it were to be 'fun'. I play games only if im having fun with them, and the demo for SW:TFU was fun for me. I mean force pushing people off ledges? WHat other game offers it the way TFU does. You finally get to be pure evil, and everyone wants that.

It may have flaws and a low score, but you cant really judge a game by what someone else says, especially a game critic. Their job is to FIND everything thats wrong and highlight it.

Dont care what they say, im still getting it. 7-8 scores are still good scores.

You'd really dish out $60 for what may only provide about 2 hours of fun before it starts getting repetitive? :|

health meters!?!? come on....it would be nice if they put some real effort into these games and gave you some more freedom. ugh....

The day will come when another good star wars game comes out, but thats going to be in a galaxy far far away :(

I sense a great disturbance in the force, as if millions of people just died a little inside.

Knew this would come, but JK2:JO is already the perfect star wars game so i don't care

jedi knight was unreal, i really wish they incorporated what made that game great into the new ones

Does not surprise me that this did not do well. I will eventually watch the cinematics online to find out about the story though.

"At this time, there are no plans for a PC version of "Star Wars - The Force Unleashed."

I have read the above quote on several different sites which all basically say the same thing. Now depending on if gamers actually take into consideration the scores of "Official Reviews" before buying a game & depending on if the sales are in fact poor for the game, you know it's just a very simple matter of time before Lucas Arts or whoever announces a PC version in an attempt to at least cover the cost of making the game in the first place or if in any way possible to make a profit. I'm sure i'm wrong or at least someone here will say I am, but I recall reading that games like "Gears of War", "GTA IV" & "Halo 3" were never going to be released to PC, yet all 3 will or has already made it's way to the PC. I find it somewhat amusing that if a new console game title is released & does well, it finds it's way to the PC, to try to cash in even more so & yet if it does poorly console sales wise, it'll have an even bigger reason to take it's chances on the PC market, such as so many console ports end up going. While we (PC Gamers) might not get some of the games on the PC on the release date, *most* decent console games end up PC games anyways.

However, if my above statement is true, then I am very much looking forward to playing "Resistance: Fall of Man" on my PC. (If it ever gets ported to the PC that is)

^ add "Mass Effect" to your list.

With the relative ease 360 games can be ported to the PC it's no surprise that many companies do so after the initial waves of sales drops off.

6.9 doesn't mean it's shit, it just doesn't do anything spectacular.

I've been playing the demo quite a lot. It's fun. Originally it failed to get my attention but after dicking around in the demo level I've decided to get it on Friday.

Besides, most Star Wars fans would get it regardless.

That's no excuse for making a bad game. If anything the guaranteed sales should enable LucasArts to take the care, risk and longer development time that most great game seem to take.
As it stands this has all the appearance of yet another sub-standard/average Star Wars game poised to take further advantage of Star Wars fans. TBH I feel a bit sorry for them. Star Wars as a franchise has been raped pretty hard since it's glory days of the late '70s early '80s and it's creator doesn't seem to care providing the dollars still roll in.
Although it has to be said that their devotion borders a form of masochism.

I know it's not, but throw an idea like this out into the open and everyone's drooling about the Jedi Knight series again.

Since Dark Forces 2 has already been made, I'm content that I'll never enjoy a Star Wars game as much ever again. FU is mostly going to be a flimsy showcase of all this new technology (DMM etc etc) that LA are adopting for future games, and the safest way to get a return on that is to slap a Star Wars title on it.

I'm sure the story will be painful, I'm sure the gameplay won't be any different to what's been on display so far, and I'm absolutely certain it will receive a mediocre critical reception on it's release.

It's fun if you're a Wars nerd, though. :p

If it comes out for PC, the only way I will get it is if it drops to $20 over the year. I'll play a bit over my friend's house though to see how I like it.

why cant we have good light saber mechanics? These combo moves were boring me just from watching them. What was good about jedi knight was the saber duals online were excellent.

Deleted the demo after about 3 minutes. Pretty boring.

Wow, you can pick up a physical object and throw it... welcome to 5 years ago. I don't see the point of throwing objects because you end up getting shot at by 50 enemies while you stand there trying to line it up with an enemy, and only kill 1 or 2 with it.

Certainly one of the worst demos I can remember playing. Wouldn't touch this game if it was free like the demo I uninstalled and will never play again.

Due to the prequels I re-evaluated all things Star Wars a few years ago. IMO, Star Wars is nothing more than eps 4 and 5 and the Jedi knight games. THAT'S IT! Every other piece of trash with the Star Wars name slapped on it I'm convinced is a sickening joke.

I certainly don't begrudge people that find joy in other things with the Star Wars name applied, but joy is the polar opposite of what I feel when I see something other than what I mentioned above.

Never really cared much for Star Wars games, except for Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight and the N64 game, Shadows of the Empire.

I didn't understand creating a story with characters that have nearly infinite power with the force, when the Emperor or Darth Vader didn't, but that's just me.

Oh wow, my friend just told me one of the plot twists, and I am seriously blown away...

BIG SPOILER
Darth Vader was the one who secretly started the rebel alliance to take down the Emperor and gain control. Obviously, it backfired and he made it look like he had nothing to do with it.... and obviously it was Vader's downfall in the end.

Seriously, that is a kickass plot twist, especially for Star Wars, that bit me in the ass, did not see it coming.

is it canon though?

Yes, George said he considered TFU to be canon to the Star Wars Saga.

aw ****...now I read it...an now I want to kinda play it...mhm I think I'm gonna rent it on Friday.

I just got done playing it and finished it. The story could seriously be called Star Wars 3.5, it just added so much information between the trilogies. As for the gameplay it's decent, nothing to write home about, but decent. The powers is what made me excited to play it. I understand that throwing shit is last gen, but to put some lightning in the mix and throw it at an enemy just gives me a little happiness inside. Some problems that I had was that the FPS dropped once in awhile, but mostly when it was taking me to a new part of the level and when you're battling multiple enemies there are times that you can't get up for a good while, which ends up taking away most of your health.

BUT! The story is what really grabbed my attention from the get go. I suggest that if you have an interest in the franchise, but you don't want to buy it, RENT IT! The characters that you fight... are amazing, but what takes the cake is the ending. Both of them.
