Greetings all,

I have had my eye on the game Star Wars: The Force Unleashed Ultimate Sith Edition ever since it came out for the consoles. Now that it has been out for the PC for awhile, does anyone here have it? The PC version I mean. If so, is it any good?

I have read all the reviews, both good & bad & except for the console port issues & overall short game length, the game appears to be fun. With the exception of one or 2 games based on the Star Wars universe, I have played & enjoyed them all. Apart from the force powers, how are the lightsaber battles? Are there combos that can be used against the Jedi scum or just mashing the mouse buttons as fast as possible?

Thanks in advance.

A friend of mine finished it in a day on the PC. He did enjoy it.

You need a pretty decent machine to run it stable and it takes up around 24GB HD drive space, but I think it's the best SW game since Republic Commando (not a very high recommendation I know, but I had fun with it).

You do get different saber combos and there are much more of them than the JK games, you can use these as they were meant to be used but a lot of the time the button mashing approach works as well. Just depends on how you want to play.

If you enjoyed JKII and have the system to run it I would say take the chance.

The pre-rendered cut scenes are all uncompressed. It does make a change not to have to put up with grainy converted console vids, but it comes at a price.

I haven't tried the PC version but I recently rented the vanilla for 360 and have been pleasantly surprised
despite some serious gameplay flaws, an interesting storyline and some gorgeous locales keep it from being dull
and, from what I've heard, the DLC (what's included in USE) is top notch
I'd play it myself but I can't justify 800 ms points for each short episode, especially since I've only rented the game
bottom line, if you're going to play it, get the USE

I have the PC version, haven't had any problems with it honestly.

PC version was buggy as all **** for me, PS3 version was playable however. The game is fun if you're not a Star Wars purist or anything like that.

Don't waste your money. The game is below subpar. The controls are horrible and the game is ridden with performance issues and bugs. It will run perfectly fine one minute then slow down to a slide show for no apparent reason. It's just a sloppy port.
Do yourself a favor and get the Dark Forces/Jedi Knight games instead. They're vastly superior.

Thus far, the game does not impress me all that much.

For an hour it will run smooth as silk, then the following hour it will skip, sputter & run like crap. The audio pops & during the cut scenes, the spoken audio will come & go randomly. I'll then load an earlier saved game & the audio works just fine during that same cut scene. The opening mission where I am Darth Vader was slightly amusing, except he walked so slow. I liked that I had Force Push, Force Choke & Force Grab to play with, but I found that I used force Grab 95% of the time. No Gibs! I mean.. WTF?? I'll force grab some loser, throw my saber at him, it'll stick in him, spin around a bit & then fly back to my hand. The enemy then gets back up, slightly the worse for ware. Rinse & repeat until the enemy dies. The end battle of the first mission against the rogue Jedi was simply horrible though. The Jedi had about as much force skill as does my cat & Darth Vader sucked to play as.

When I got to play as the young apprentice, the game was more fun, but still buggy. I hope it gets better....

I did like slicing droids in half, watching their internals spark. That was pretty cool.

Wait till you get into the later levels. Every ****ing thing that hits you knocks you back.
Fighting with the Lightsaber is a chore. It's much easier to force grip the enemies then fling them into oblivion.
Although effective it gets boring very quickly. This has got to be one of the most frustrating games that i have ever played. I did not enjoy it at all. The only reason why i stuck it out is because of the plot.
Apart from that, the game is a piece of shit.

sounds like yet another crappy console-PC port
shame, really

If you play the game with a 360 pad the game controls fine, and as I said before, I have had no performance issues with it running it on a quad core with GTX260 and 3GB Ram. Like I said before, it's a hungry port and you need a machine that is able to feed it. Also, the patch fixes some performance issues.

I'll admit I've not tried the pc version but from my experience of the ps3 version, it's really not worth your time. It is a very average and mediocre game and it just sounds like the pc version is a horrible port of it.

BTW 24 GIG? What the hell?!

Played again earlier today for about 2 hours & the game ran just fine. No problems like yesterday, which was nice. While the game is fun, it sure isn't as good as some of the past Star Wars games were, such as Jedi Academy for example.

if Lucasarts can remedy what plagued this game, the sequel will be fantastic

my biggest gripe is the controls; they don't feel as tight as a game like God of War of Bayonetta
the targeting system is atrocious, so much so that I rarely use it
also, alot of the combos are very unresponsive

another thing they could definitely improve upon are the boss battles... many of them felt very dull and anti-climactic

No. No this game isn't worth it. And I played on the xbox without the bugs. How the **** did they convince the publisher to let them do a sequel?

it has sold over 6 million copies
and I really don't think it's as bad as you say.... it has many redeeming qualities
are you a hardcore SW fan or something?

Started game back up to play some more.

Popping audio again.
Missing spoken dialogue & skippy playback during cinematics.
Smooth FPS, then skippy, then smooth, then really skippy.

Then CTD.

Saved my game, uninstalled the game, reinstalled the game, loaded saved game. Smooth. Played for about 15 mins then back to above.

Uninstalled.
