Everything about this game interests me (BioWare, MMO, Star Wars, graphics are pretty, the model for that tiger thing was amazing) apart from the combat system which, once again, looks very generi-WoW.
I'd rather complete turn-based than that bloody awful "stand there and tap buttons while watching your character attack" jargon*. It completely puts me off.
*before you say anything, I know pretty much every game in the world requires you to "stand there and tap buttons to watch your character attack" but you know what I mean.
I'm very turned off by the idea that they are considering a micro transaction based business model. This sort of system is almost always suicide in the western market, I don't understand why they think it's a good idea.
Star Wars has been dead to me for years. KOTOR and Dark Knight games were the only Star Wars related media that I had any dwindling interest in. When I heard the words Bioware and Star Wars together, I was mildly excited. Then I saw the most dreaded three letters I could ever imagine. M-M-O. That's all I needed to hear. I won't read another word about this game, it's officially dead to me.
I do hope it turns out well for the fans though. Another galaxies-like failure and I'm afraid that the community could possibly implode.
actually looks neat, and i'll probably try it for a month but if its just like Star Wars Galaxies count me out..that game was really dull even playing with my best friends
I will never pay a monthly fee, not even for the sequel to one of my favorite games ...
Too bad though, will probably be good. But no one game is worth $50 + subscription fee, that's stupid. The only was I would even consider it is if the client was free and the only charge was the subscription (or microtransactions).
mmos actually work out pretty cheap if you play regularly - alot cheaper than drinking or going to the cinema etc. My concern is this'll take what was great about kotor and turn it into grind/level fest.
I'm interested in what MMO talent Bioware hired in order to make the game possible. They have basically zero online game experience, much less MMORPG experience. It'll be interesting as this game makes it's way to the further alpha stages and we start seeing genuine previews.
