Starting HL2 After Activation

After Half Life 2 is activated are we going to have to open it through Steam every single time to play?

Yes, as every other STEAM game. It runs through STEAM.

Yes you will have to run it through steam... hopefully valve update it so that it stops taking up lots of resources.... otherwise hl2 will crash and crash and crash....

You can make a shortcut on your desktop by right-clicking and then it will start Steam in any case so...

yes but you can play it offline...

i mean you can goto Crogramfiles/valve/steamapps/username and all that to CS:S and play it like that offline so you will be able to do the same with hl2.

the first time u will have to be online to get the last pre-load *unlocking the game*

but that's still the same thing..... hm.. i think steam will get better, and improve, valve aren't that stupid... plus now they don't have hl2 to work on....

Can't say I get a lot of trouble from steam using resources, it does its job well
